I’m an historian with a particular interest in vaccination, smallpox, and Edward Jenner, plus the history of my adoptive home county of Gloucestershire.
I currently work on communications for a charity focussed on tackling health inequalities. Prior to this, I spent over a decade working in museums. Between 2014 and 2023 I managed Dr Jenner’s House, the birthplace of vaccination, leading the organisation through the challenges of the initial phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ve appeared on BBC Radio 4 and ABC Radio National, featured on social media for the Department of Health and Social Care, presented at Gloucester History Festival, and written for Wellcome Collection.
I am an Associate Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. I have a MA in Heritage Management from the University of Birmingham and a BA in History from the University of York. I have been certified Carbon Literate and am a Mental Health First Aider.
